Giant sea turtle
A very interesting and exciting experience is to observe the giant sea turtles coming out of our Bay to lay her eggs on the beach. This normally occurs from May through November but occasionally at other times. This pictures was taken on November 14, 2004. This was a younger turtle and she laid about 116 eggs that were collected by the officials and taken to a special area where they are protected and will hatch in about 48 days.

Turtle release at dusk
If you have never had the thrill and excitement of naming and placing your baby turtle on the wave line to release, don't miss a chance to. Hundreds of hours old babies, their large flippers scurrying to find their home in the mysterious ocean, is an experience that will touch your heart. This event can be seen at many of the hotels around the Bay. |
